“If I know what love is, it is because of you.”

Becoming a Mom 6 years ago has been the biggest blessing and most rewarding jobs ever. This lovely mama is about to have not one, not two, but three beautiful girls to mother. I’m so happy I was able to capture such a special time for Sophia with her oldest daughter, Aria. I remember wanting to soak up every minute with my first before my second was born.

This beautiful, intimate mother daughter session has inspired me to do so many more sessions like this in the studio. I have an opportunity for these on May 4th, I’m hosting Mother’s Day mini sessions. Spots are filling up quick and I would love to be able to give this beautiful gift to as many mamas as possible. Just when you think you know love, something little comes along to remind you just how big it really is

I still remember the excitement, joy and pure happiness I felt when I first found out I was pregnant with my first baby. Pregnancy however, was not my thing, don’t get me wrong its a beautiful miracle but I wasn’t a happy camper. My second time around wasn’t as difficult as the first but I have a special appreciation and love for preggo ladies because I know it isn’t always easy.

Oh boy is it soooo worth alllll those difficulties, pain and sacrifice. Once you lay your eyes on that precious baby, your life will never be the same again.

Stephanie and Zach, I cannot begin to express my joy for you both. Be prepared to have your lives change forever, in the best way possible.

Tom & Jackie - Maternity

It was such a pleasure to meet and capture a special time in Tom and Jackie's life, getting ready to welcome their little baby girl soon. We had so much fun shooting around Coronado at the Hotel Del, Jackie looked absolutely stunning in her two dresses that complimented her baby bump so well. I made the flower crown to go with both looks.
One of my favorite parts about shooting them was how much they laughed together, they radiate love and affection for eachother and I know that baby girl is going to have some awesome parents.

Hi!

Hi! My name is Christy Golder, I'm an almost 30 year old wife, mama, Jesus lover, introvert, photographer, DIYer, sometimes blogger who loves wine, shopping, chalkboards, water coloring, crocheting, decorating my house, The Bachelor/Bachelorette, Mexican food and drinking coffee-while eating donuts of course.

For those of you that don't know me personally, that's a pretty brief description of who I am. Writing this is hard because I don't always think about what makes me, me. Also I tend to be very critical......bad Christy. I'm learning to give myself grace and to truly love myself just the way God made me. Yes, there is always room for improvement and growth. The honest/real me inside gets nervous in groups, loves dancing (ESPECIALLY if I've had a few), is a homebody, is self conscious about a few of my body parts and what people think of me, doesn't like confrontation, a people pleaser, I don't like other peoples feet touching me, oh and I get goose bumps when I hear Styrofoam rubbing together.

I was born and raised in Chula Vista, CA in the same house that my parents still live in. I am one out of four siblings little sister(23 months younger) older brother (2 years older) and my older sister (almost 6 years older) and my parents have been married now for 44 years. Growing up the middle child, along with my older brother I was a tomboy through most of my childhood. One of my fondest memories from childhood was all the road trips we went on as a family, camping most of the time was where my love of the outdoors was established.

I met my husband at our church when I was 12, we started dating when I was 14, got engaged at 17 and married at 18. I can honestly say he is my very best friend and I couldn't imagine life without him, I know sounds so cliché. We've had our share of ups and downs these past 16 years dating, almost 11 of those years married. We waited 7 years to start our family and have Hunter who is 3 1/2 and River who is turning 2 in May.

I started on this photography journey when I turned 21, my sweet hubby bought me my first camera for my birthday. Since then I have saved and bought my lenses and finally upgraded to my Nikon D7000. I am mostly self taught, spending hours and hours of researching, going to classes and practicing to be able to take the photos I do. I've had opportunities to learn from other photographers both in the wedding and fashion industries. I've shot approximately 7 weddings and though I don't advertise myself as a wedding photographer, for a few reasons, it is a dream of mine to one day call myself a "Wedding Photographer".

I love photographing people. People in love, people by themselves, babies, kiddos, expecting mamas and families. Capturing a moment, a look, a feeling in time for someone to hold on to and cherish forever is my passion in life.

"Photography is the beauty of life captured."

Second blessing

I remember being pregnant with River feeling so nervous about having another baby and wondering how my heart could expand to love another. The moment she came into this world those fears were gone because my heart did grow and I couldn't imagine our life without her.
My beautiful sister in law and her hubby are about to have their second daughter, any day now!!! I can't wait for them to experience that amazing love all over again. I know my niece Kennedi will be a wonderful big sister.

A baby shower!

Last weekened we celebrated my sister-in-law, Jenni's baby shower at the cheesecake factory with her family and friends. It was a beautifl, sunny afternoon filled with yummy food, visiting and ADORABLE baby girl presents! Now we are all anxiously awaiting the arrival of Aurora Barr in April. Hope you enjoy the photos from your special day jenni!
