Shooting with families is something I hold very near and dear to my heart. Watching the interaction, connection and love flow through each person and the whole group is pretty special. Of course we all have our issues and quirks, no family is perfect but isn’t that what makes it so beautiful!?
Have I mentioned before how much I LOVE shooting first birthday cake smashes!?!? All of my little birthday client’s come to the studio and I custom order the yummiest and cutest cakes from Donalee. We start with some portraits in their nice clothes then move onto the fun, messy part!! I keep these sessions simple and easy for the littles, typically shoot them playing with a toy or capture them crawling or walking around.
Luke Copeland turned ONE in april and his mama picked the cutest farmer/cowboy theme! I was pretty excited that he LOVED his cake, not all little ones know what to do with a massive cake in front of them!!
This Newborn session is so near and dear to my heart, I’m so thankful I get the opportunity to photograph family and all their seasons of life! These two have been waiting a long time to grow their family and I am so happy Evan has come into their lives forever.
In home Lifestyle Newborn sessions are , in my opinion, one of the most authentic ways to capture this precious time. What better place to shoot in than in your own home!? Its the best environment for mama, baby and the rest of the family.
For all the things my hands have held, the best by far is you.

So out of 30 days I only have 10 images for the month of March, I’m thinking I should put a reminder in my phone to take a photo a day. I’ve noticed doing this project has made me pay attention to details and thinking outside of the box or my norm of shooting.
March 1st 2019- a visit to the plant store to pick out some new plant babies. River named one “Charlie”
March 3rd-Smiley boy
March 4th-”I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be”
March 7th-Always dancing
March 8th-Details I don’t ever want to forget. I can’t wait to recreate this photo when they are older.
March 15th- Watching her do these simple things that she loves, like painting or drawing, makes me so happy.
March 18th- Morning cartoons
March 20th-Visits from Nonnie are always fun.
March 24th- Warm days
March 25th- Spending the day with cousins, playing at the park
March 30th- Visiting grandma and grandpa in Redding, making new memories over spring break.
“If I know what love is, it is because of you.”
Becoming a Mom 6 years ago has been the biggest blessing and most rewarding jobs ever. This lovely mama is about to have not one, not two, but three beautiful girls to mother. I’m so happy I was able to capture such a special time for Sophia with her oldest daughter, Aria. I remember wanting to soak up every minute with my first before my second was born.
This beautiful, intimate mother daughter session has inspired me to do so many more sessions like this in the studio. I have an opportunity for these on May 4th, I’m hosting Mother’s Day mini sessions. Spots are filling up quick and I would love to be able to give this beautiful gift to as many mamas as possible. There is a button at the bottom of this post to inquire about booking.
I’m so happy Chloe reached out to me about shooting her Senior photos!! I’ve known this girl for years, I worked with her mom and watched her grow into this beautiful, confident, strong woman. When I asked about her session and what places bring her joy, she said some where in the mountains with the sun shining on me. We started in the studio then went outside with a little snow on the ground and a winter chill in the air. This session was magic! I stretched my creativity and had a blast with posing and directing my first shoot for 2019!
Chloe, thank you again for trusting me with your senior photos!! I can’t wait to see where you will go in this life!
February is one of those months that seems to always fly by! We had our first real snow fall and then at the end of the month we visited one of our favorite family’s in Idaho to attend a wedding. I love being able to capture the little things that happen in each day.

Just when you think you know love, something little comes along to remind you just how big it really is
I still remember the excitement, joy and pure happiness I felt when I first found out I was pregnant with my first baby. Pregnancy however, was not my thing, don’t get me wrong its a beautiful miracle but I wasn’t a happy camper. My second time around wasn’t as difficult as the first but I have a special appreciation and love for preggo ladies because I know it isn’t always easy.
Oh boy is it soooo worth alllll those difficulties, pain and sacrifice. Once you lay your eyes on that precious baby, your life will never be the same again.
Stephanie and Zach, I cannot begin to express my joy for you both. Be prepared to have your lives change forever, in the best way possible.

Oh how quickly that first year goes by! I love capturing first birthday photos, especially when cake is involved. This session was shot in the studio using a few different setups, I always recommend shooting some in a cute outfit before cake is put in front of your little, this way we get more than one look for the session!
I love to capture this special birthday, click the link down below to get more information!
I have been photographing the Copeland family since their oldest was just a little newborn. I am so honored to be trusted with each and every family I capture. I adore shooting families and realize how incredibly important it is to capture each stage. I strive for my photos to tell more than words can. My goal at each session is to capture you just as you are, come as you are.
These images will be cherished when your littles have littles of their own. Often times looking back at my own family photos has brought so much appreciation and I am reminded what is the most important thing in my life when my eyes gets blurry and I lose focus.
One of my goals this year was to take more photos of our everyday life as a family. Not only to document such a precious year as my littles grow up but to stretch and grow my photography skills. Best decision, I can’t tell you how precious these photos are to me. I haven’t put too much pressure on myself, I only took 14 out of the first 31 days of 2019…….grace. I also need to jot down a little note for each image so I don’t forget why I took a particular frame and what it means to me.

JANUARY 29th Evening walk after school, one of my favorite things about where we live.
Preparing for a boudoir session
Answering all your FAQ
I get so any questions concerning boudoir sessions, so I put together this FAQ blogpost to answer them for you!
DO YOU HAVE ADVICE FOR GAINING CONFIDENCE TO DO A SHOOT?
Every single woman comes into a shoot with nerves, period. We all have our self doubt, insecurities, and reasons (excuses) we come up with to say no to doing something like this for ourselves.
The first hurdle to tackle is actually booking. Just do it, don’t put it off. Schedule the shoot.
My second piece of advice is words of affirmation, praise your great qualities and learn to fall in love with exactly who you are today! Tell yourself everyday you deserve this form of self love, you are worthy, you are beautiful!
Put on your favorite music that gets you pumped up and feeling sexy and practice some posing!! It may sound and feel weird but it works! Dance, take some cute selfies, put on clothes that make you feel great.
The day of, please put your trust in me. I’m your friend, I’m here to guide you, pose you to look your absolute best. Let yourself have fun, let loose and step outside of your comfort zone a little, you will not regret it.
You will never be left alone to figure out how to pose…. I guide you through every step.
DO YOU CHARGE EXTRA TO WEAR OUTFITS FROM YOUR CLIENT CLOSET?
I do not charge extra to use items from my client closet. I have purchased over 30 options ranging in sizes small to large. Bras and pantie sets, high waisted, thongs, bodysuits, tanks, lace, velvet, even some jewelry pieces!
This is just one of the ways that allows me to offer each one of my clients a luxury one of a kind boudoir experience.
Here’s just a few pieces from the client closet.
Will you crop out my belly, fix my blemishes, brusies and “problem areas”?
Here’s my game plan from start to finish:
I help you decide what to wear that will best compliment your body, taste and specific style that you want to achieve.
I ask what your favorite features are about you and do my best to highlight those.
Each pose you will be doing will be done, to put it in simple words, to make you look your absolute best. Using certain angles and the most appealing lighting.
Post processing I will typically smooth things out and remove anything (within reason) that you were not born with. I pride myself in keeping the images I take true to life while also making you glow and look your absolute best.
No I will not remove moles, take away rolls, tighten your stomach or make you look any smaller or larger than you already are.
Here’s a before and after for an example.
DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?
I totally understand that a Boudoir session is an investment, although totally worth it, something that needs to be planned ahead and I try my very best to make it possible for every one to do it!
If booked far enough in advance I do offer your package total to be broken up into 3 payments!
Please email or fill out the form on my contact page to learn more and see how YOU can afford a boudoir experience!
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN YOUR BOUDOIR SESSIONS AND PACKAGES?
I have three different packages to choose from when booking a session.
All including digital images and product credit to purchase additional digitals, prints, and albums! I highly encourage my clients to get their photos off the computer and displayed in frames or albums, this is why all my packages include a credit towards purchasing products.
Each babe that books a session is treated with hair and makeup done by a professional artist right in the studio, champagne, access to the client closet and a client prep guide to best prepare for their session!

When Stephanie first contacted me about scheduling a session with her and her boy Lochlan, I got really excited and had some amazing ideas come to mind! These two are not only adorable with a great sense of style but I loved watching them and their special bond as mom and son. We started out at one of their favorite San Diego coffee shops, darkhorse coffee roasters in North Park, then walked around and stumbled upon the coolest book store and my favorite shop, Pigment.
These are hands down some of my favorite images from 2018. Thank you again Stephanie for the privilege to document such a special part of your life.

My fam is getting ready to wake up at 2am and drive to Idaho for a vaca!! I'm pretty excited to have more time with my people, visiting framily plus I'm getting my photos done!!!
Here's to an amazing week!!
I'd love to capture some beautiful memories for you.
This photo was taken in the middle of the day, the light is a little more harsh but its still a great shot!
choose outfits that are comfortable and easy for kids to move around in. Both of my kids are sensitive to tags and certain fabrics. Therefore I know they will complain if there is a itchy tag in their shirts or an uncomfortable waist band on pants. I'm obsessed with flower crowns but I also know that not every little girl is going to be ok with wearing one. It's always worth a try but don't force something otherwise there might be lots of tears in photos.
Plan to bring something fun to play with or an activity that your kids will enjoy! Bubbles, a picnic, a favorite stuffed animal, a fun game such as ring around the rosie or dancing are always a fun way to get kids distracted if they are over it or starting to throw a fit. During a session I will always suggest a fun game like peek a boo or dancing to get some giggles.
SNACKS! Kids can eat none stop, sometimes I like to take a break in the middle of a session for a quick snack! Remember to bring something that won't stain faces or clothes. I also suggest bringing or offering some kind of treat at the end of the session. I'm not against bribing kids for great photos, sometimes it works like a charm!!
Go with the flow.
At the end of the day kids will be kids. We can't always predict their mood changes and even though it can be frustrating we can't flip a switch and turn it off, even though that would be awesome! Of course we all want "the perfect shot" with everyone smiling and looking at the camera. I'd say most if not all of my sessions I can at least get one of those in your gallery.
Some of my favorite images are the in between moments, the candids, everything may not be going exactly the way you pictured it but the moment, together, is being captured and honestly as a mom I'm so grateful for every image of me with my kiddos.
